We can attempt to teach the things that one might imagine the earth would teach us: silence, humility, holiness, connectedness, courtesy, beauty, celebration, giving, restoration, obligation and wildness.

bonus entry due to lack of customers

I am bored. No one has come in the shop all day. This happens here, there are just days that no one even walks by the shop. Supposedly come May we won't be able to keep our shelves stocked but until then there are a lot of days where the internet is my friend. I really need to bring some sort of project down here with me to keep me from just aimlessly wandering the cyber world. I can't even report of anything interesting that I read. The only moderately appealing thing that I found was that my local library actually has a few of the books I want to read.

Maybe I can start another bit of fiction before work tomorrow to occupy myself during the day, or I could work on our Valentine's products... an up coming post, or I could work on my article for next week, or ...okay you get the point there are really better things for me to be doing than pricing camera's I can't afford and reading recipes that I want to make. I guess I could use the rest of my time to draw up some ideas.

Hi Stacy,
When my youngest son (now 8), was just a year and a half, I managed a maternity store and brought him to work with me. It was pretty tough at times. I am just lucky he was such a good napper. I was constantly looking for special "work" toys that would keep him busy while I worked and I was always asking friends and relatives to stop by and keep us company. Your post took me right back to that time in my life and made me smile, although I do hope business picks up for you!

Hi Stacey,

As you know I too have a business that is very seasonal. I have found myself aimlessly wandering the net, it's probably part of how I started blogging. Try www.ted.com I find some of the lectures there quite inspiring.
Best Wishes

sometimes zoning out is what you need to find the muse. (not that the muse is on the internet, but being brainless is sometimes necessary) i like looking at beautiful photography online, gives me inspiration and beauty and warmth when it's cold.

Grocer: TED looks very interesting, I had seen the one on creativity and education before but I didn't realize there were other subjects.

Patti: I picked up La Tour Dreams of the Wolf Girl and Frida.

Meridith: Photos and art are where I get lost a lot, but it's hard to find the good stuff some days.
